Self counting part container connected to an inventory management system.
A smart version of the commonly used plastic container for parts. It has a built in precision scale, wifi, an user interface and a self calibrating procedure. The used calibrates the first time for a specific part to be stored in the bin. After that, the bin automatically counts and reports its stock quantity back to the backend. When a part needs to be collected, the backend triggers a message to the bin with the quantity expected to be removed. The bin lights a yellow light to enable a picking-by-light. If the quantity removed is different than the expected, the light turns to red to force the operator to double check.
